Invisalign FAQs

The Answers to All Your Invisalign FAQsInvisalign FAQs

Many patients who come to our Alpharetta office are interested in Invisalign clear braces. The unattractive and uncomfortable qualities of metal braces make the clear aligners a very popular choice. But you may still have questions about the procedure and what you can expect. Here are the answers to some of the most common Invisalign FAQs we’ve received over the years.

How Does Invisalign Work?

The Invisalign system involves a series of slightly different clear trays that are created to fit over your teeth. These trays very gradually shift your teeth into position. Each tray moves your teeth slightly more, step by step, until your smile looks beautiful.

How Long Does Invisalign Take?

You will wear each Invisalign aligner for around two weeks before moving to the next one. How many trays you will need, and how long your overall treatment will last, depends entirely upon how much correction your teeth or bite require. However, Invisalign is significantly faster than metal braces, often knocking months or even years off the usual treatment time.

How Should I Care for My Invisalign Aligners?

For most patients, simply brushing your aligners with a soft toothbrush and rinsing them under running water is sufficient to clean the aligners. Because you will be wearing them except when you eat or brush your teeth, you don’t need to worry about how to store them overnight.

Is Invisalign More Expensive than Metal Braces?

Invisalign clear braces are comparable to metal braces. However, it may seem more expensive because the treatment is shorter, therefore you pay the same amount as metal braces in a shorter period of time.
